E106 – Bras! One of the most important tools in every woman’s wardrobe is the brassiere to hold up the girls! We discuss what type we like, common problems, the cost of bras, and what it’s like being fitted in person versus online.  Lingerie talk gets wacky, Weens gets sultry-nervous, and stressed by this after back-to-back family birthdays, Joelle gets her panties in a bunch. So we take a breath with Sesame Street and work our way into a quick chat about the Elmo Netflix documentary. More Mouse knicker twisting, then the elephant in the room: why did our parents use the cutesy names “dinky” and “twinkie” instead of the anatomically correct “penis” and “vagina?” Luckily, our mom is visiting San Diego so we pull her onto the mic and quiz her about the family history of naming privates. We also keep her in the hot seat asking why she got remarried on our dad’s birthday, and find out her fun nuggets about horses, cowboys, Robert Redford, her reggae phase, cbd, drinking, and the story behind the broken ankle. Was it a case of our dad having a walk-it-off football mentality or was he being negligent? We hope you like this one as we air some of our family’s intimates. So many questions answered, so many laughs!

E99 – We’ve been Mousing and Weening since December 2017 so this marks our three year anniversary of the podcast! Thank you to everyone for supporting us and listening! We celebrate by talking all about the party that some Christmas rats threw in Julianne’s kitchen and futon and closet and lingerie drawer. We even get a pop-in interview (the sweetest ever!) with the pest control man who happens to interrupt our recording! All this hot rat talk naturally gets us onto the subject of men so we create some steamy Damon, DiCaprio, Martin and Banderas sandwiches. After some past Argentine boyfriend reminiscing, we jump back to reality and recap Christmas in Idaho. It was a great visit full of skeet shooting, holiday traditions, and Cowboy Denny bear poking. We segue into Juls’ story of an ex throwing her into a bear, and an injurious snowboarding photo adventure. And now that we’re back in California, we’re in quarantine and questioning bubbles. We are hearing about more and more people close to us catching covid, which is not a fun subject. Be careful everyone! Back to fun romantic memories of New Years and our goals for 2021. Ah, it’s fun to relive these Tahoe, New York, Times Square crowd stories. Remember crowds?! We close this with a shoutout song to all of the podcasts we’ve mentioned in past episodes.

What are other people thinking about how much time she spends with her kids versus her computer? Perceptions, expectations, assumptions and The Shoulds can get us all into trouble, so we try to break down our personal experiences. We also get into how friends and family are at different stages of how they are dealing with coronavirus expectations right now. E95 – After a little quarantine talk, we do some happiness exercises and get right into some fun filmmaking memories. Julianne worked on “The Muppet Movie” and recalls a day shooting with Chris Cooper, stunt explosions and injuries, and what Brian Henson had to say about his dad Jim Henson. Another sweet man we discuss is Chris Martin from Coldplay. Is Joelle horny or just nostalgic for live music and happier times? We’ll go with the latter as we segue into nostalgia talk about 924 Gilman St., the co-op music club from our Bay Area youth. Julianne reconnected with friends from these days, and we both watched the documentary “Turn It Around: The Story of East Bay Punk” to see her friend Sean’s role. She talks about his connection to Green Day, and adds a hilarious story about Lint (aka Tim Armstrong) and Lars, the guys from Operation Ivy and Rancid. Why was Julianne fascinated by these types of people? She connected with guys who were interesting and wild, a lot like her friend Puck from “The Real World San Francisco”. We hear a funny story about him and our dad in the San Ramon Christmas tree farm, and then remember a story about the East Area Rapist (Golden State Killer) in that same farm, and a Richard Ramirez (Night Stalker) serial killer rental-house connection. We get back into talking about the psychology and angst behind punk music, and the judgements that go along with the music, the hair, and even the tattoos. It quickly turns into a parenting discussion about tattooing, morals, and shame. We battle out who was the worst teen and when a parent needs to draw the line vs when to compromise with your kids when they go down this path. Where do YOU fall on the punk to square scale?!
