E114 – While catching up, we talk psychic abilities and manifesting your thoughts into reality. Do you believe in karma? Then we jump into what’s on mama Mouse’s mind: summer camps and plans for her 3 kids now that California is opening up. After reminiscing about our camp memories, including wheelchairs and Wildman, we talk about the safety of summer camps, especially sleepaway camps, when it comes to COVID and predators. Of course this gets us talking about kidnappings and murders here in San Diego and we mention a bit about Chelsea King, John Gardner, Danielle Van Dam, and David Westerfield. Joelle tells her personal story of the Miramar Lake Jogger, which is super disturbing. Then Weens exerts her telekinetic powers onto her microphone, which gets us back onto pyschic abilities. She even teaches us how to control dreams! Hear the crazy experiment that Weens conducted on this, proving her powers. Speaking of control, or lack thereof, we have received some unsolicited dick pics. But the only kinds of ding dongs we’re interested in are of the jaja variety – hear Julianne’s story on this! We jump into her ethnomusicology class and learn about microtones, syncopation, and what her jazz musician friends have to say about Western music. Julianne teases future interviews on this subject with saxophonist Bob Mintzer, keyboardist Matt Politano, and drummer Steve Ferrone, who, along with bassist Matt Cory, are known as The Coffee Shop Trio. E99 – We’ve been Mousing and Weening since December 2017 so this marks our three year anniversary of the podcast! Thank you to everyone for supporting us and listening! We celebrate by talking all about the party that some Christmas rats threw in Julianne’s kitchen and futon and closet and lingerie drawer. We even get a pop-in interview (the sweetest ever!) with the pest control man who happens to interrupt our recording! All this hot rat talk naturally gets us onto the subject of men so we create some steamy Damon, DiCaprio, Martin and Banderas sandwiches. After some past Argentine boyfriend reminiscing, we jump back to reality and recap Christmas in Idaho. It was a great visit full of skeet shooting, holiday traditions, and Cowboy Denny bear poking. We segue into Juls’ story of an ex throwing her into a bear, and an injurious snowboarding photo adventure. And now that we’re back in California, we’re in quarantine and questioning bubbles. We are hearing about more and more people close to us catching covid, which is not a fun subject. Be careful everyone! Back to fun romantic memories of New Years and our goals for 2021. E73 – Costa Rica during the coronavirus outbreak? Weens finally safely returned home and talks all about her gorgeous but dicey girls trip. Even though there is a lot of laughing in this episode, we get into our feelings as we talk about how everything is going in our two very different lives. Weens is happy doing a solo quarantine in artistic solitude, while Mouse is juggling a full family household and attempting homeschooling with lots of unknowns. There are fun stories, dumb jokes, some tears, and a few nice takeaways. And being Mouse’s and mom’s birthday, Weens writes a special custom song to celebrate this weird year! Joelle’s pals also add some nice sentiments, so listen until the end! Hope everyone is hanging in there and we hope to bring you some solace and smiles.
