Costa Corona Birthday

E73 – Costa Rica during the coronavirus outbreak? Weens finally safely returned home and talks all about her gorgeous but dicey girls trip. Even though there is a lot of laughing in this episode, we get into our feelings as we talk about how everything is going in our two very different lives. Weens is happy doing a solo quarantine in artistic solitude, while Mouse is juggling a full family household and attempting homeschooling with lots of unknowns. There are fun stories, dumb jokes, some tears, and a few nice takeaways. And being Mouse’s and mom’s birthday, Weens writes a special custom song to celebrate this weird year! Joelle’s pals also add some nice sentiments, so listen until the end! Hope everyone is hanging in there and we hope to bring you some solace and smiles.

Driving Miss Weenie

E57 – Driving Miss Weenie
On location in LA, we watch Weens close down from the previous day’s shoot of the ABC cop show The Rookie. This is our first video call, so you can see this episode on YouTube also! We hear highlights and lowlights from Mouse’s Puerto Vallarta vacation, pros and cons of The Real Housewives, our TV watching differences, and Joelle’s gripes about working from home and finding balance without mom guilt. Hear a coworker’s interview and his star stories about John Ritter, Clint Eastwood, and Angelina Jolie. Which one swore like a sailor? Weens details her latest dating adventure and we try to figure out what this particular guy was thinking. And hear the dramatic conclusion to the meditation light lady because we know you’re waiting on the edge of your seats! Go for a fun ride down Hollywood Blvd to see what it’s like to ride shotgun with Julianne. Always a good time! MouseAndWeens.com

No Lo Siento

E47 – Weens wrapped ABC’s hit show The Rookie and is going to fill her hiatus with creative endeavors Myers-Briggs style, even though it’s possible that Jung and Freud were full of BS. Weens is searching for her main gig, isn’t sure about being on stage, but loves improv and recalls watching Upright Citizens Brigade in New York for the first time. She took some UCB classes in LA, and then challenges Mouse on her comedy and improv skills. Mouse gets nervy when she lectures to gardeners, but she commands a room when it’s about sexual health. Go figure. Hear the exercise we both do on being an expert and see if you feel the fraud and imposter syndrome creeping in. We segue to hear about Mouse’s recent colonoscopy and get the play by play on what to expect under twilight anesthesia when you basically get roofied with fentanyl. Then take a delightful Jeep ride down memory lane, Dickens style, as Weens recounts caring for Mouse after oral surgery and why she still might be on America’s Most Wanted list.

Roommates

E37 – What do mice in the night, chore shirking sorority girls, schizophrenic lesbians, droopy Hungarians, and sweater thieves all have in common? They were our roommates! Weens confronts Joelle with her passive aggressive outbursts, and we talk about our parents fighting and their divorce. Weens sets her sights on woodchoppers and guys who keep their cars moderately clean, and ball talk reminds Mouse of her possum prune story. Thank you to all of our friends who listen and we hope that you spread the word about our podcast. Crushes

E36 – What makes a crush? The emotions, chemistry, psychology and crush stories discussed! Mouse and Weens have new revelations about past crushes and have fun discussing old flames and celebrities. Find out what happens when you look up a grade school crush and hear some insider celebrity talk sprinkled in too. We tack birthday wish recordings for Weens at the end of this episode of friends and family. See if you can find the celebrity voice! Interview: Andrew Piccone

E35 – Our good friend from high school, Andrew Piccone, came by with lots of insight about the Eggold sisters. He owns Wander Mouse Films, shooting projects for Snoop Dogg, Disney, Shepard Fairey and MC5. We all reminisce about growing up in suburbia, our old film projects, and the crap we used to get into, and then dissect our guy-girl friend relationship. Weens gets mad at us for leaving her out but he and Weens hang out now, going to movies like Bodied, the battle rap movie produced by Eminem. We land on weed talk, movie ideas while high, and pot paranoia. Weens tells a cringeworthy butt-dial story, and we get into November birthdays, Scorpios, and love lives. We had so much fun with Andrew, our Joseph Fiennes lookalike. This one is a loller! Amazing beautiful song credit: “Little Bird” by Julianne Eggold.

Ghost Stories of Mouse and (Hallo)Weens!

E33 – We’re back and full of stories, both the dental kind and the ghost kind! Weens had a hot root canal, and Mouse had a dental panic attack. Scary stuff, just like the ghost stories we gathered from our friends and coworkers. The spooky experiences were from friends living in houses where spirits still resided, and from employees at the haunted MacArthur Park Towers who dealt with many of the residents dying. Hear about a little hooded boy, an angry rose-lover locking doors, a suicide ex giving a kiss, the man in the yellow jacket, the Virginia horseman, Teddy Ruxpin coming to life, and an out-of-body fisticuffs. Call us if you know more about spirits or if you have ghost stories to share! (858) 206-9971

She’s Out, Childhood Stories, Acting, and Murder

E32 – Mouse rips off her mask and reveals her identity to be Joelle Eggold Kohn. Ahh it feels good to not have a secret anymore! We also talk a bit about our up and coming famous cousin, Ryan Eggold, on NBC’s New Amsterdam, which launches us into childhood memories and adventures – spying, trapping the neighborhood boy with lipstick and Brut, booger boy, classroom crushes gone wrong, and reunions. Weens explains her New York acting experience and recounts a murder right outside her house. We end on varmints, stories about them and a shoutout to the Varmints! podcast! Coming Out and Jealousy

E31 – Weens is coming out! She is Julianne Eggold and featured in The Lazy Teacher Podcast episode 39 Mouse is still wrestling with being anonymous, but having a secret is not fun and is causing stress. Most parents in suburbia have secrets and dumb past lives. Just look at Brett Kavanaugh, our favorite douchebag jock turd. We switch gears and discuss a fan’s question about a jealous girlfriend breaking up with him over a photo. Jealousy is a tough emotion and we share our stories, both in our relationships and in our careers. Mouse tells the story about when she knew she couldn’t be a doctor, and Weens’ coworker Jackson DeFreest from The Rookie defines envy vs jealousy. We talk about promoting other entertainers but having the tendency to self-promote instead and hold onto our one nut. On that nut note, please leave us a good review on iTunes! Nina Simone cover song “Feelin Good” used with permission. Jesse Biggio vocals, Jackson DeFreest on guitar.

The Lazy Teacher Episode Swap

E29 – We hang out with an awesome teacher, podcaster, and friend – Brian Pawlowski of The Lazy Teacher Podcast – in our first ever episode swap! No subjects are off limits as we talk about Weens’ dating life, music, parents vs teachers, school gardens, kids’ nutrition, and all sorts of goofy, giant topics. Enjoy this fun one and please be sure to follow The Lazy Teacher Podcast for Brian’s insight into education, parenting, passion, and life! He’s a good egg! thelazyteacherpodcast.com Song credit: “Giant Friends” by Weens.
