Panic Attacks, I Need Compliments, Dream Incubation, Cat Talk

E117 – Tooth holes and a Huck Finn breathing tube? Find out what Weens learned about Panic Attacks in her psychology course. We discuss Mouse’s oldest during the summer, the tiny house idea, tease upcoming professors, and compare Weens’ leg to Bob Odenkirk on silks. Then it’s our new segment Cat Talk! Who doesn’t love, or have, or would love to have, or maybe not love to have, a cat?! Our sweatshirt shenanigans and name origin story will get your whiskers tickled. Then hear the bloody sad depths to which Mouse has sunk to get a compliment lately. Finally, do you want an answer to one of your life questions? Try Dream Incubation, which Julianne has been studying from professor Dr. David Sowerby. It is as easy as …well, you’ve got to hear the steps! It’s amazing to learn that manifesting answers from your unconscious mind is a scientific study. What answer did Joelle get about her relationship? And can she really be right up there with Pema Chodron and the Dalai Lama? Let’s listen and find out!

Easter Dog, Feckit, Paul Williams, and Microaggressions

E110 – Easter afternoon we took the podcast for a walk on the dog trail. Are you into Jesus?! We talk traditions in our house, and the hunt for the golden egg brings up the trophy-for-all discussion. Hear Juls’ hot take on overconfident kids and practical parenting. We’re interrupted by dog fight drama, but Weens quickly channels her Cesar Milan-style advice. We discuss the changing dynamic of our sisterhood and how the little sis is now teaching the big sis. This ties into Joelle’s new favorite idea: The Feck It Fifties complete with a Feckit List, because life is short, who cares what people think, and family is important! In an Ishtar segue, we talk about songwriter, actor, Grammy winner Paul Williams and what happened when Mom and Julianne stayed at his house! We get into Weens’ sociology and psychology studies and learn about microaggressions, schemas, and body language to quickly size a person up. Hot example is Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s paparazzi scuffle back in the day, so of course Joelle paid attention! This also reminds us of the 4-part Showtime series “Love Fraud” about a real hunt for a dirt bag narcissist. Talk about microaggressions! Enjoy an awkward double hello with neighbors in a very “Curb Your Enthusiasm” tinkle moment, and be sure to follow and subscribe everywhere you can find our podcast! Exes, Breakups, and What We Can Learn

E107 – Ex boyfriends, ex girlfriends, ex spouses. We get into the stories, complaints, and sorrows about ours and other listeners’ exes. Some are funny, some are just plain mean, and some we can all relate to! What are different types of breakups and how to deal with each? What are the types of ex boyfriends (or girlfriends) and what can we learn from them? Hear some great dating stories, some where-are-they-now tales, and even one ex who ended up on the tv show Intervention. Find out whether it was Mouse or Weens who got cheated on or who went on a date to stake out John Gotti! We dive into these topics just like we dive into boxers with both feet at the same time! You can’t miss this episode!

Thanks to everyone who wrote in with their personal memories, and special thanks to Dave from The Airwolf Years, to Chad from The Perfect Package Podcast and Down to Folk, and to patron Joyce, yes our sweet mom, for choosing this topic!

Dating During Covid, Ickrolled, Ellen, Gift Giving

E104 – What’s the biggest meme that Weens will forever associate with quarantine? Find out and learn all about hydration with Mouse’s larger than life water bottle. Or should I say Walter bottle?! We get updates on Hollywood starting up filming and Julianne’s job situation, and then we dive in to another session of Joelle Bugging Julianne About Online Dating. So many thoughts as we have an in-depth talk about relationships, being single, and finding a forever person. We talk about shyness and Jo’s science insecurity, and then jump in to Ellen’s underwear. That’s right, Degeneres fans. It’s time for another undie giveaway! Hear about the panty sending mishap as we segue into misinformed gift giving of Pearl Jam and wolf items. We end on sweet memories of our dad and get philosophical about happiness, finishing on the tv peeker Mr. Rogers.
Thank you to our listeners and wonderful patrons! (Hear your names in our song and Carla, Joyce, and Megan get special shouts in this episode!) Everyone, be sure to get in touch to be a part of the show. We would love to hear from you. https://www.MouseAndWeens.com

She’s Out, Childhood Stories, Acting, and Murder

E32 – Mouse rips off her mask and reveals her identity to be Joelle Eggold Kohn. Ahh it feels good to not have a secret anymore! We also talk a bit about our up and coming famous cousin, Ryan Eggold, on NBC’s New Amsterdam, which launches us into childhood memories and adventures – spying, trapping the neighborhood boy with lipstick and Brut, booger boy, classroom crushes gone wrong, and reunions. Weens explains her New York acting experience and recounts a murder right outside her house. We end on varmints, stories about them and a shoutout to the Varmints! podcast! Song credit: “Rainy Sunday” by Weens aka Julianne Eggold.
