Well Good Morning!

E67 – Hop on the 2020 sister train and follow our thoughts as we talk through Mouse’s suburban optimism and Weens’ city pessimism, while discussing traffic, Mr. Rogers, true crime, and the homeless. Our eyes were opened by Julianne’s interview with a Los Angeles Police Department officer, who had a lot of information and thoughtful perspectives on the homeless problem in LA and the day to day issues that the LAPD deals with. Then we have some parenting discussions about Mouse’s boys about male role models, teasing and gender jokes, internet safety, and sexual health. Fun fact: did you know Joelle was a sex educator in college and was on the news talking about HPV? Now, don’t be fooled by the heavy topics. This episode is laden with ridiculousness and funny stories. Look out for brisk red sweaters, bearded ice skaters, drunk tarot card readers, caped rollerskaters in g-strings, condom banana totems, and a guy named Rare. Come hang out with us and be part of the fam! Visit Patreon for bonus funny outtakes from this episode!

The Grass Is Greener, Wiener!

E42 – It’s Superbowl Sunday and raining gophers in Southern California! As we catch up on mom life and work life, we realize we want to switch roles a la Freaky Friday. Weens wants the excitement of kids, and Mouse wants a vacation from all the juggling. We discuss the transition from stay at home mom to getting back into the work force, finding purpose in your job, both paid and volunteer, and how to draw the line between the giving of and charging for your time. Mouse struggles with drawing the line on social media on her phone in front of the kids too, and Weens explains simplifying her life. We get sidetracked by Bert and Ernie, Carol Channing, and then reminisce about our boobies first growing, first tampons, and our PE teacher/actor dad playing sports with us after school while rehearsing scenes. Again, another Henson sidetrack gets us talking about Sesame Street and exposure to races and nationalities growing up in predominantly white suburbs. We end hearing a very spiritual dream that Mouse had about the afterlife, a possible message from dad, and a utopian society which reminds Weens of an Albert Brooks movie and some near-death experiences she has studied. Alan Alda also pops in at the end to give sage advice. We hope you enjoy this funny but serious, light but meaningful episode!

Mole, Mule, Mole, Mule

E27 – Mouse explains her family’s Jewish side – the non bar mitzvah birthday campout and the non bris bris. Is 13 a man? Technology, coddling, and helicopter parenting might be to blame. Free range parenting is getting pushback in Mouse’s community probably because of the past small town murders. We talk crime and burglaries, and Weens tells her stolen bike story, ending with a flurry of 80s George confusion!  We remember a family camping trip and get into why men on our dad’s side are solitary – artsy Grizzly Adams or anxiety? Weens tells another hilarious work story, we do some car talk, and get into shame cleaning. Mouse knows new moms are notorious for this! Mouse is balancing her mini midlife crisis needing to go out and party, with working in the school garden, and we give props to all the teachers out there taking care of our kids. Please tell your friends about us. We would love some word of mouth support! www.MouseAndWeens.com

Strange Dad Memories, Weens Online Dating, Mouse’s Chili Peppers Story

E19 – We dabble a little with religion talk and then get into some kooky memories of our sweet dad. Sleep positions come up which logically leads right into misspellings and grammar. Weens divulges her latest love life status and tells some amazing online dating stories, the favorite being Gun Trunk. Mouse gets into her dating history and recalls the glam rock 90s. Then we hear the Red Hot Chili Peppers story of Mouse getting a gun held to her head which is not a funny story. We talk about feminism self defense and teaching girls to be kick ass. Weens has a good self defense move from her job volunteering with the elderly – the goose poke. See Weens parody commercial on our You Tube channel and hear some of her guitaring funnies throughout the episode. Wahooeey!
